The Diamanta Shawl is based on an old lace design called cockleshells, which is normally knit very tightly. Designer Kristeen Griffin-Grimes has updated the stitch for a modern look with larger needles and combination of chic yarns. Finished shawl measures 62-72" wide by 25" long. Shown in Rowan Kidsilk Night, color Starlight (3 balls) and paired with Lurex Shimmer, color Pewter (6 balls). (Unfortunately, Lurex Shimmer has been discontinued, and Two Swans is sold out of the Pewter color.)

Pattern calls for needles size US 13 and 15. Stitch markers are a must for this project.
