The hedgehog is knitted on 24" circular needles in sizes US 10-1/2 and 11. Hedgehog is knitted in rows, but the circular needle is used to facilitate shaping. Finished size, after felting, is approximately 7" to 10" tall.

5 out of 5 stars Adorable! 12/03/2007

I made one of these for a friends young child. For the eyes and nose I needle felted them on with black and stuffed the toy with wool instead of fiberfill for a more eco/baby friendly toy. I'm not sure who loved it more the kid or the parents.

5 out of 5 stars A Fun Project 10/30/2006
Reviewer: Karen Joner   (2) from Port Angeles, WA US
My daughter was desperate for me to make this hedgehog for her. I kept putting it off as a tedious project that didn't serve my time well. But, making this hedgehog was really a lot of fun. He worked up quite fast (2 days) and was very hard to put down. He is adorable in real life, easy to make, and certainly worth every minute I put into it. I would highly recommend it as a break from socks, sweaters, hats, scarves etc.

My first felting project and what a success! It seems REALLY confusing while working the pattern, but just keep following the instructions and it all works out! Love this pattern!
