A great yarn gets a new name: Rowan Scottish Tweed 4ply. This is the same yarn you knew and loved as Harris 4ply, now re-named to honor its Scottish origin. This yarn is milled on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, off Scotland's northwest coast. The labeling will say Rowan Harris or Rowan Scottish Tweed, as our inventory is replenished.
Scottish Tweed 4ply comes in a gorgeous range of 28 colors; all are heathered for a rich depth of coloring. Four new colors were introduced for the Fall 2006 lineup: Blue Mist, Gold, Oatmeal, and Rose. 4ply is a jumper-weight yarn perfect for Fair Isle knitting.
See the newest Rowan book, Scottish Island Knits, for designs from Kaffe Fassett, Jean Moss, Sasha Kagan, and other members of the Rowan design team for patterns using these yarns. Or use them in any pattern calling for Rowan's Yorkshire Tweed 4-ply.
