5 out of 5 stars Spindrift for mittens 01/24/2008
Reviewer: Rachel Russ   (2) from Saint Francis, MN US
I have used Jamieson's Spindrift now for several pairs of mittens. I have found for Fair Isle and Latvian mittens this yarn is the easiest to work with. The colors are a dream. One thing to note though--kids with sensitive skin might complain about "scratchiness" at first. I found soaking the mitts before wear softens them a bit. I turn to Jamieson's first for Latvian Mittens. A tried and true yarn.

5 out of 5 stars not at all soft, but gorgeous colors! 12/01/2006
Reviewer: Bronwyn Horton   (2) from Spring Hill, TN US
One of the main complaints that I hear about this yarn is that it is way scratchy. I have sensitive skin problems and cannot wear a sweater out of it against my skin. However, the blended, heathery colors are to die for, and the "stickiness" for fair isle just can't be beat! Don't be scared away by the feel of it; you can always soak the balls in hair conditioner, eucalan, kookaburra, or Soak to soften it up pre-knitting!
